This portal is an extension of the study “Enabling Access to Knowledge on Advanced Building Material and Design Towards Energy Efficient Buildings” sponsored under the “A2K+ Studies Programme” of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India.

The portal presents a description of advanced building materials and design strategies being used and practiced by the Indian construction industry for achieving energy efficiency in the development of modern housing and offices through a sub-climate classification approach.

As a key source for information exchange and knowledge sharing, this platform aims to consolidate available information through case studies, and literature on emerging technologies to disseminate for policy formulation by the government; enabling industry and building professionals and end users to identify and know of the best available technologies and practices on innovative buildings materials and design technologies to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions in the building sector.
